The National Association of Landscape Professionals announced today that it is partnering with the Irrigation Association and the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI) to promote National Lawn Care Month, joining the Turfgrass Producers International (TPI) who, last year, became the first association to partner with NALP on National Lawn Care Month.
For years, NALP (formerly as PLCAA) has championed National Lawn Care Month, understanding how important it is to promote professional lawn care and educate consumers about the benefits of turf.
“This education campaign is important and to have OPEI and the Irrigation Association join TPI as partners, means that this is truly an industry-wide effort in the month of April,” said Sabeena Hickman, CAE, NALP CEO.
NALP engages in aggressive media relations to promote the month and provides tools and resources which partners and members can share with their customers and the public.
“We are excited to work with NALP and our green industry partners on this important initiative,” said Deborah Hamlin, CAE, CEO of Irrigation Association. “When managed properly, landscapes bring so many benefits to our communities. National Lawn Care Month is a great reminder to mow, fertilize and irrigate responsibly.”
“Lawns benefit our environment, our health and our lifestyles, so it makes sense to celebrate this integral part of our living landscape,” said Kris Kiser, President and CEO of OPEI. “It’s more important than ever for home and business owners to pay attention to landscape health in the springtime, so these living spaces can continue to deliver the benefits our communities need.”
