Update From Ariens: Ikon XD Mower
Ariens updated the IKON XD to provide added comfort to its already class-leading features. The company added an all-new seat base that has a taller, 18 in.-high back seat with armrests, as well as a seat slide for easy adjustment that is similar to those found in automobiles. Households with more than one operator will find this enhancement especially useful.
The Ikon XD’s new custom hand grips are rubber-molded and inspired by power tools. Their orange and black details give them a bold new look, and the rubber makeup provides more durability than foam over the mower’s lifetime. Ariens also responded to Ikon XD fans and added 11 in. x 6 in. front tires to not only flesh out its rugged look, but to provide a more stable riding experience, soaking up bumpy terrain while it flashes a more muscular look across the yard.
The Ikon XD comes in three deck sizes: 42 in., 52 in. and 60 in. For the 42 in. deck size, Ariens added a larger engine, the 42 in. Kawasaki FR651V, that gives the mower 21.5 HP to handle the toughest residential cutting challenges.
