Case Construction Equipment and CNH Industrial donated the use of a skid steer at the 8th Annual Victory Garden Blitz. The event marked the record-breaking installation of 555 gardens. Since 2009 more than 3,000 community gardens have been installed throughout Milwaukee.
The original Victory Garden Initiative supported the war effort during WWI and WWII. Today, group focuses on empowering communities to grow their own food. Another goal is to re-establish the relationship between human and food ecology.
Case Construction Equipment/CNH Industrial is one of many partners of the Victory Garden Blitz. The manufacturer used a SV300 skid steer to help move more than 550 yards of soil.
The gardens are made possible with a $160 donation or sponsorship. Each garden is 4 ft. by 8 ft. and includes a full installation as well as new soil from local composters.
