The Equipment Dealers Association (EDA) and Polsinelli, one of EDA’s industry partners, are joining forces to present a free webinar to EDA members on credit card use best practices for dealerships, to be held Wednesday, September 20, at 12:00 p.m. CST. Matthew Layfield, shareholder at Polsinelli, will lead the session; he devotes much of his practice to agri-finance litigation.

Accepting credit cards is a business necessity in today’s world. In 2015, the obligations upon retailers increased dramatically with credit card companies seeking to aggressively shift the risk of loss or fraud to retailers, like equipment dealers. Many dealers, unfortunately, have already experienced credit card fraud firsthand.

Layfield will give an overview of credit card use best practices and answer frequently asked questions:

• What is required of my dealership under the updated (in 2015) credit card use of service obligations?

• What safeguards should my dealership have in place to help limit the risk of credit card fraud?

• What should I do if I determine there has been an instance of credit card fraud at my dealership?

Upon completion of registration, a confirmation email will be sent containing all needed information to join the session on September 20.
