Generac Holdings, Inc. will acquire Motortech Holding, a Germany-based manufacturer, and all of Motortech’s assets. The acquisition includes gaseous-engine control systems.
“By combining resources and technology, Generac and Motortech will lead the industry in innovative, spark-ignited engine generator offerings,” says Patrick Forsythe, Executive VP. “This acquisition allows Generac to expand its global market for gaseous products beyond standby generators. It aligns with our strategy of gas power-generation leadership.”
Currently, Motortech has over 250 employees at its German facility. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2017. Motortech’s current management team will continue to lead the business after the acquisition is finalized.
