Officials with the Northeast Equipment Dealers Association (NEDA) recently conducted a survey of dealers and their efforts to recruit ex-military members as employees. The results show that 33% of dealers are currently making an effort to recruit veterans.
And while two-thirds of dealers say they have direct experience as a veteran or a family member who is one, 87% of dealers say they have low awareness of veteran hiring initiative through state and federal agencies.
On a related question, dealers said they advertise open positions on the Web (41%), 18% in newspapers and 14% with “career organizations.” The term “other” accounted for 26% of responses.
