OSHA recently announced that nominations are being accepted for members to serve on the Whistleblower Protection Advisory Committee. WPAC was established to advise and make recommendations to the secretary of labor and the assistant secretary for occupational safety and health on ways to improve the fairness, efficiency, effectiveness and transparency of OSHA’s whistleblower protection activities. Six seats on the committee will be available beginning December 1st, 2015. Members are asked to serve a two-year term on the 12-person committee.
Nominations are accepted from those interested in representing management (2 spots), labor (2 spots), the public (1 spot) and State Occupational Safety and Health Plan states (1 spot). Nominations may be submitted electronically at www.regulations.gov, the Federal eRulemaking Portal, by mail or fax. Nominations are due May 18th. For more information, visit www.whistleblowers.gov.
