Walker Announces Distributor Transition
Walker Manufacturing has announced the transition of the Ohio, Michigan and eastern Indiana territory distribution responsibilities from Emmett Equipment Co. (Richfield, Oh.) to Precision Work, Inc. (Port Washington, NY).
“Since 2002, we have enjoyed working with the dedicated team at Emmett Equipment Co., and we are thankful for the progress they have made,” says Walker Chairman Bob Walker, “Company founder Tom Emmett was a key part of the development of the Walker market in these states up until his passing in 2016. The team he had put in place continued on working well and has recently chosen to focus on the retail side of their business.”
Effective July 1, Precision Work, Inc. (PWI) will take on the ongoing territory, dealer and brand development for Ohio, Michigan and eastern Indiana. “Walker Mfg., Emmett, and PWI have been coordinating closely with one another over the last several months to make this transition as seamless as possible,” explains Walker Sales Manager Bob Clancy, “We’re confident dealers will be well supported by PWI with the programs and Walker product to continue to make their Walker dealerships successful.”
Precision Work, Inc. is a family-owned, small town, independent power equipment distributor founded in 1965 and has been distributing Walker Mowers since 1982. PWI currently distributes Walker to nine northeastern states from Maine to Pennsylvania. PWI President Jeff Plotka says his team is excited to welcome the new Midwestern dealers into the PWI family: “Our company has been built on strong relationships with dealers who we like to treat like family, so the opportunity to expand into the Midwest is exciting for our team. We look forward to bringing the same programs, service and attention to detail to these new dealers that have helped build the reputation in the power equipment industry that we enjoy today.”
